Hello, friends -

How was your autumn equinox/ final eclipse of the year?

How is your body marking the shift in the seasons, the pause in the balance point on our way into the darkness?

I spent Saturday with a few lovely humans in our virtual round house for our Autumn Equinox Sun, Moon, Fire, Soil gathering. We reflected on the season, through our own experiences, discussion of ancestral practices, a energy attunement, and an old English folk tale about an elderly couple, worried how they would make it through the winter in a bad harvest year, who find their regular practice of tending relationship with the Otherworld comes back to bless them.

It was a nourishing time together... and by the next day, my digestive system had completely shut down and I've spent the last few days somewhere between here and the Otherworld myself, while my system continues to shift, process, and generally go through some form of death and rebirth.

So this email is coming to you a few days later than I had hoped, but, as it always seems to be, right on time.

Because this coming Sunday, September 28th, I'll be at the Arterra Wines fire pit in Delaplane, VA offering gathering and ceremony around the very theme of Practicing the Art of Death and Rebirth.

"Because there’s something perhaps worse than death - the numbness of an uninitiated and half-lived life. Let’s practice moving from heavy and stagnant back to the vibrant aliveness which longs to welcome us home."

We've got a lovely group forming so far and the building energy around the event feels potent. Out of the several themes I feel called to gather around, this one feels deeply timely for the season. I'm looking forward to it.

​Sanctuary - our next monthly Sanctuary gathering is happening on October 13th at 12pm ET.

Samhain - two opportunities to mark Samhain with me:

• one, at an OracleFest Podium event on Nov 1 (more coming later);
• or two, at our next Sun, Moon, Fire, Soil seasonal round house gathering on Nov 2nd.

The Cauldron of Knowledge - the course I mentioned before with myself and Scottish storyteller Eileen Budd, working with Scottish faerie stories and building our own relationship with the Otherworld, has been postponed from this Fall to early February, so I'll share more on that soon but that will be coming.

Sending you lots of love as we continue our journey into the dark half of the year. I do love a good Underworld descent. I haven't always. And even this year I wasn't sure I'd feel ready for it... but now that I can feel it coming, I find myself excited for the paring down and the time with candle light and loom and stories and dreams.

May we be well, may we find and nourish the seeds of right story even when so much wrong story runs rampant, and may we be ungovernable to the forces that seek to oppress, dehumanize, and exterminate -
