* last call * (tarot for 2026 and moon circle in Winchester, VA)

Hello, dear ones -

Blessings of nature on our creaturely bodies as we drop into the post-holiday darkness of on-going winter.

Though light and life are slowly returning from dormancy, this is still a time to unplug from urgency; to rest and dream. To be very conscious and careful of what we are feeding and nourishing now... because more than any resolutions or intentions, what we feed in the dark days of the year becomes what grows and fruits in the light.

All that "unplugging from urgency" said, this is a gentle "last call" reminder to sign up for (if you're feeling the call):

  • the in-person Winchester, VA moon circle I'll be guest facilitating part of tonight (Mon, Jan 5th);
  • and/ or Insight 2026: divination through intuitive cards to invite “More Magic, Less Pressure” into your New Year celebrations, altars, and rituals; and offer you a theme/ image to orient you in this next phase of your own becoming (cart closes Tues Jan 6th so I can have my own period of hibernation this month)

My part of the Moon Circle at Daydream Studios in Winchester, VA is shaping up to be a Rose transmission/ attunement and ancestral reconnection practice. An animist practice of meeting Rose herself as teacher and ancestor and learning from her as our ancestors might've (with tea, candlelight, and story). All this in a way that reconnects us to our bodies and the feminine wisdom of timing and lunar cycles.

Insight 2026 is in its 5th year now and is a fan favorite. It's a special once-per-year offer which developed out of my own practice of feeling like vision boards always seemed to end up being about me trying to shape the world into what I wanted (rather than listening to how the world wanted to meet me in my desires and fears); and intentions or words felt too disconnected from my body and like they were, again, coming from my will (a good practice in helping me stay on a track of my own determining, but not so helpful when I wasn't even sure what the track might be).

There's lots more I could say about how much I love this practice myself, but the news cycles are increasingly unhinged and we need less noise. So I've said more about it on the sales page, you're welcome to read about it there.

All I'll finish with here is that the messages pouring through in the channeled voice notes that go along with the readings have been loving, fierce, affirming and generous (though, arguably perhaps too generous and definitely on the "more" side of "less is more" - some of the Card of the Year Deluxe voice notes have been in the 20-30min range!). There have been lots of themes of radical trust, going back to basics, and rebirth coming up.

I'm constantly reminded that we're standing at a powerful threshold as a species. And though there's much that seems evil and violent and greedy afoot, the humans who represent those attributes the most right now are unmasked, naked-faced, *inevitable* outcomes of unchecked capitalism and empire.

If we don't like what we see, we need to plant different seeds and participate in and embody different ways of being. Until we do, we are all complicit.

The antidote? From where I stand, it's to remember how to be creatures again.

How to belong to the land, the Holy, and the Seen and Unseen Worlds again.

It's to soften our hearts and reclaim our ability to listen deeply.

It's to move through the world fully embodied, sensitivity engaged, and with wild mercy.

It's to know when to rest and when to act and be in rhythm with aliveness and the seasons.

It's to be tenderly creative and lovingly destructive.

To participate in ritual and ceremony and rebuild the relational skills that have atrophied through the last few centuries, which taught us to look at all Life as a resource to be harnessed and extracted.

And to do all that not just during retreats or on our yoga mats or in plant medicine ceremony and other peak experiences... but in our lives - in our work, in our parenting, in our errands and daily household tasks.

To embody the revolution until it, too, becomes inevitable.

May it be so.

You can join me for one of the above offers (Moon Circle or Insight 2026), for 1:1 mentoring, as a free or paid subscriber on Substack, or... stay tuned as the year goes on for more of my own humble offerings in service to that inner shift for all of us.

Big love and wild mercy;

Kate

P.S. I'm planning to record a few new videos podcasts in the next few days so keep an eye out for those. And I've got some ideas about how to bear witness or "not turn away"... without getting sucked into what we're witnessing that might be helpful for any of you sensitive folks who want to be aware and informed but easily get overwhelmed by it. (I have a suspicion the news cycle will only get worse before it gets better). Just sitting with how best to share those ideas and skills with you all.

I've also been slowly working away at some self-paced workbooks on how to begin developing your own rituals; and how to navigate burnout and deep inner winter as an initiatory process. The going is slow because I, too, am having to do a lot of putting out fires. But I'm not planning to launch any new things for the next few months which should hopefully give me some time to complete those. If anyone here is, or knows anyone who is, skilled with organizing content and would be excited to assist me in completing these projects, feel free to connect with me. <3

Hi! I'm Kate - an intuitive, medicine woman, and guide for embodied Presence

Are you a compassion warrior, culture worker, and rebel who cares deeply about humanity; who's tired of doing all the “right things” and still getting what you’re trying to avoid; and who feels trapped between burning it all down or dying but would rather be wildly, and sacredly alive? I'm an animist and ancestral wisdom guide; ceremonialist, and empath. And I love guiding other humans who want to use their burnout and purpose anxiety as a jumping-off point to journey into their shadows and the shadows of modern society in order to de-armor their hearts; remember a deeper, wilder sense of belonging to the world; and reclaim the rich and sacred spark of their aliveness. This newsletter contains wisdom nuggets, podcast episodes, and invitations to paid and free offerings from my business. All in support of remembering a more animist and land-based culture; holding firm to our humanity in a dehumanizing world; and living with compassion, vulnerability, and reverence.

Hello, my dears - Welcome to the Gregorian Calendar New Year. We made it to 2026. Some of you may be hating on 2025 right now. I mean, fair. It sure was hard at times. But what a lot of beauty, too, heh? I've heard a few people say they're ready to be done with 2026 already. That doesn't seem quite fair. We haven't even given it a chance yet and I have this sense that big changes are in store. Hopefully, none of you have been hating on yourselves. I'll offer my gentle yearly reminders: there...

Hello, dears - I wanted to hop on here and remind you that we're at *last call* for both our Winter Solstice online round house tomorrow and the in-person ceremony in Winchester, VA on Sunday. Registration for both closes tomorrow morning. But along the way, I noticed how much work I'm having to do to stay centered in myself and the type of seasonal life I want to live. And I thought this was a great opportunity to pull back the curtain a bit and share a bit of my process with you. photo by...

Hello dear ones - This picture is from last November (2024) just outside of Oban, Scotland. A view from the daily walk the dogs I was caring for and I went on. A few days a ago, I sent an email beginning to make a case for restoring more beauty and meaning in our holiday celebrations. But I’m aware that “beauty” is a word that comes with a lot of baggage for many of us. I wrote a Substack post addressing this (you can read the whole thing here), but I'll recap it a bit here: I was in a...
